Worship Services

Why We Gather

Before Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father, he instructed his followers to “go therefore and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19 ESV). These people would ultimately form local churches, representing Christ in all areas of their lives. The author of Hebrews would later instruct, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some” (Hebrews 10:24-25a ESV). The Son ushers believers into a family, and one does not want to forsake their brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, each worship gathering is a family reunion. We gather corporately to receive God’s revelation through the preaching of his word, and we respond in unison by singing praises to the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. Not only that, we address “one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs” for mutual edification (Ephesians 5:19 ESV). This is why we gather, because we are disciples of Christ.
